ENROLLMENT ASSIGNMENTS TO SPECIFIC SCHOOLS, K-5

Elementary students in MSAD 71 will be assigned to schools located in the community in which they reside unless class size dictates assignment to another MSAD 71 school with the following exceptions:

1.         Alternative placement through a Pupil Evaluation Team (P.E.T.) decision.

2.         Alternative placement when it would be in a particular child’s best interest as determined by a Child Study Team.

3.         Alternative placement necessary to balance school populations both in numbers and make up determined by district administration.

Any requests for placement in schools other than those geographically assigned to them should be submitted to the Superintendent, with the final decision being rendered by mid-August.

Those placement requests which are granted will be on a year-to-year basis. Parents will be asked to sign a paper indicating their understanding of this condition.
