HEALTH SCREENING
Screening for visual acuity will be done on all students in grades K,1,3,5,7, & 9. Vision screening will also be done upon teacher, special education, parent or student request. Children who fail retest screening will be referred to parents to consult with an optometrist/ophthalmologist/physician for further evaluation.

HEARING SCREENING
Screening for hearing acuity will be done on all students in grades K,1,3,5. Hearing screening will also be done upon teacher, special education, parent or student request. Children who fail retest screening will be referred to parents to consult with physician/audiologist for further evaluation.

SPINAL SCREENING
Spinal screening is mandated by Maine law and will be offered to all female students in grades 6 and 8, and all male students in grade 8. Only students with signed parental declinations will be exempted from spinal screening.
