The Southwestern Maine Activities Association recently completed their annual student leadership summit at Cheverus High School. Each of the 17 member schools in the conference sent 10 student representatives. One of the workshops dealing with sportsmanship in the conference provided an opportunity for the students to select the school they felt exhibited the very best in sportsmanship ideals. Students were asked to make their decision based on spectator behaviors, coaches actions, players interaction as well as how they were treated by the host schools.
We are proud to announce that Kennebunk High School has been selected for the fourth year in a row as the outstanding sportsmanship award recipient for 2006-07. With respect to the history of this program, no school had won this award more than two consecutive years prior to our selection last year. It is indeed a wonderful honor especially to be selected by the students in our league.
Congratulations to our fans, players and coaches for a job well done.
