Title: "Rising Bubbles"

Visible from the MSK Library window is the beautiful "Rising Bubbles" stained glass work of art by Janet Redfield of Lincolnville, Maine.  Redfield's stained glass design incorporates fused glass with colors reflective of the library environment.  This work of art is part of the Percent for Art Program, a program designed to place original artwork in newly constructed or renovated state funded buildings.

"I think of Kennebunk as a coastal community with a connection to the ocean, so the watery bubbles seemed appropriate. The designs inside the circles are just totally imaginary, abstract ideas (except for the flying bird).  The general idea behind the design was to make it look like floating stems of kelp with bubbles rising from below." --Janet Redfield
