OUR SCHOOL LIBRARIES

MSAD71 School District Libraries are essential components of the total district education program.  They are centers for information literacy which coordinate and support curriculum needs for all learners and promote the enjoyment of reading as a life-long activity.

The libraries are information rich environments created by the professional librarians who select, purchase, organize, maintain, circulate, and continually upgrade the collection of resources. The collection encompasses a comprehensive range of information in a variety of formats.  The librarians, as  resource providers, instruct, consult, and cooperate with teachers, qualified library support staff, and trained volunteers.

The library staff encourages students to acquire the academic knowledge and personal skills needed to achieve the expected results of the district to be successful learners, skilled researchers, effective communicators, resourceful problems solvers, and responsible citizens.
